When I couldn’t find a locksmith to repair my door locking mechanism, I decided to do it myself. I located Countryside online and the website was thorough and complete. it took about an hour to replace the hoppe gear box on a dropping handle. the only difficult part was removing the lock set but a utube video showed the solution. A bent paper clip in the slot.

The locking mechanism works well, for a whole at least. This is the third time that I have had to replace the mechanism. One bad lock could be a product defect, three times is a design defect. Replacing the locking mechanism cheaper than replacing the doors but never again will I buy a ThermaTru door.
